In short
A tele-interview is a telephone interview in which a trained interviewer works through an insurer's medical questions with you.
A tele-interview, sometimes called a telephone medical interview, is one way insurers collect your health and lifestyle information. A trained interviewer calls you and works through the medical question set, and the calls often take around 30 to 45 minutes.
Increasingly, insurers and advisers send the same questions as a secure online link instead, so you can complete them in your own time. The questions are identical either way, and the same answers produce the same underwriting decision however they are collected.
Whichever method is used, your legal duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation applies. Answering online has the advantage that you can check medication names and diagnosis dates before you reply, which often makes disclosure more accurate.
