About Aviva

Aviva is one of the UK's largest insurers and provides individual protection products such as life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection to UK customers. Its history stretches back to the Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society established in London in 1696, with the present-day group formed through the merger of Norwich Union and CGU and renamed Aviva in 2002.

Aviva's individual protection range is sold both directly and through financial advisers and brokers. Cover can typically be arranged on a single or joint-life basis, with options such as terminal illness cover and children's cover included or available depending on the product.

As with all UK protection providers, the cover Aviva can offer an individual, the terms applied and the premium charged depend on the answers given during the application and the insurer's underwriting decision.

Protection products in the UK

  • Critical illness cover (standalone or combined with life cover)
